Listen to the voice of nature at fairy tale village, Tono, Japan
After long and happy dinner with farmer’s family, I don’t remember what we talked and we almost lost track of time in the dining room firewood burning so slowly. Fireplace keeps the entire thatched roof house warm whole day and night, big the 200-year history residence.
I think I was right to choose the Framers house stay not regular hotel.
All food mainly vegetable was light-seasoning and elegant. Food was so friendly to my stomach tired with long flight, rail, car and irregular time eating of dinning-out. I was surprised at the rice is served in Ohitsu, rice container made japanese ceder wood.
This wood rice jar is so traditional and appeared at end of dinner with miso soup with vegetable. When I eat rice, I smell the ceder tree scent a little.
I heard the old wall clock struck ten.
During farmer’s family washing dishes, I was advised to take bath in the authentic Japanese bathtub made of Japanese ceder tree.
The bathtub was filled with hot spring water and smell peace of mind wood aroma. I was relaxed in deep and trying hard not to nap.
Probably half hour past in the bath, house became tranquil. The sound of wind came to my ear, wind sound like flowing mountain-top to bottom of this village.
Wind was telling me not to nap, not to cool my body, leave bathroom and sleep well in the winter futon.
Following the voice of nature, I left bath to the soft, clean and warm futon, I start sleeping instantly.
At midnight, I woke up with stronger sound of wind, but warm futon lured me back to sleep soon.
Next morning I opened my eyes early and left lovely futon and depart for rambling.
I opened the wood sliding door softly not to wake them up. And I looked up the sky.
Above the thick cloud, sunshine showed lights.
Around a hour, I walked around the house.
I sayed Ohayou-gozaimasu, good morning to early birds.
I was so happy.
